Overview
Fructo-oligosaccharides are functional oligosaccharides produced from sucrose or from chicory, joined by β-fructosyl linkages (degree of polymerization 2–9). FOS is a widely used prebiotic and soluble dietary fibre with low sweetness.

Grade selection is driven by purity, format (powder or syrup), sweetness contribution and the moisture sensitivity of the finished system — including a low-water-activity grade for probiotic dry blends.
